The Machine vs. Man 2 DVD features 28 NEW car-to-car crashes with male and female volunteers, as well as the new biofidelic RID2 crash test dummy, in low and high speed rear, frontal, side impact, and high speed head-on with airbag deployment. None of the footage of Machine vs. Man 1 is duplicated. As with Machine vs. Man 1, all crash tests are filmed in full color, and most feature multiple views including on-board, off-board, medium and close shots, as well as high speed film and video for clear slow motion playback. Together, the two DVDs now provide a total library of 53 crash tests. Each crash test is slated with an introductory screen which provides the initials of the volunteer, the closing velocity, the resulting change in velocity (delta V), and the subject’s head linear peak acceleration in the x axis (in accordance with the SAE right hand coordinate convention). Moreover, most subsequent footage is also labeled with these crash parameters and, in most cases, a description of any resulting structural damage is superimposed on the footage. The user has the ability to navigate from the main menu to the crash types menu, and then to select specific crashes easily. However, the DVD also has a mode in which the entire series of crash tests will play end to end—over 20 minutes of continuous crash test action. Machine vs. Man 2 is produced with a sound track, allowing the viewer to hear the ambient sounds of the crash tests. Sound can also be muted. This DVD-ROM comes with two PDF files containing an affidavit (Jurat) of authenticity, and an extensive fact file which catalogs the various phenomena that can be observed in each of the individual clips (ramping, head restraint geometry, shoulder displacement, gender variances in kinematic effects, etc.), as well as a complete technical description of the equipment used in the crash testing and filming, and the vital statistics on all volunteers and vehicles.

The Main Menu allows viewers to Play All Crashes back to back, or to navigate to submenus, such as the Crash Type Menu.
The Crash Types Menu allows viewers to select a submenu containing crashes grouped by crash type (e.g., high speed rear impact, side impact, etc.).
The Low Speed Rear impact crash submenu contains all rear low speed impacts. DVD insert catalogs the crashes by number designation for quick reference.
In addition to low and high speed rear impacts, frontal impacts, and side impacts, Machine vs. Man 2 contains the highest velocity head-on staged crash with three human subjects ever recorded on film.
